Surge Protectors and Interference Blockers

One of the main causes of CCTV malfunction is damage from lightning strikes and power surges. Lightning does not have to hit the system directly for it to affect your equipment. Power surges which can damage your camera or DVR can can travel through the network of wires that connects each of the components of your system. Aside from installing voltage regulators, lightning arresters, and other standard power protection equipment, you can increase the surge protection, surge spike protection and overvoltage protection of your CCTV equipment by adding surge protectors to your cameras. Two surge protectors are needed for each camera. One surge arrester protects the camera and the other protects the DVR.
